Dr. Washington's letter stating that the area is unsuitable as a salmon habitat

His statement is in almost complete disagreement with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist Doug Hennick's letter.

A letter by King County Water and Land Resources Division biologist Brent Lackey, states that Brookside Creek was not included in the survey that Dr. Washington cites as finding no coho salmon there. Brent Lackey's letter further states: "This stream was not passed over because of any assessment regarding the likelihood of fish presence, indeed it was assumed that this stream would probably host the same species likely to be found in the mainstream of McAleer Creek" (which is a known salmon habitat, including Chinook).

See also the spawning salmon we spotted in McAleer Creek. Brookside Creek, the stream for which the proposed building site is the headwaters, is a major tributary of McAleer Creek, as you can see on the stream map.

The Wetland Delineation and Mitigation Report by B&A Inc., that describes the mitigation measures cited in Dr. Washington's letter as a basis for concluding that the "project could enhance the geological and hydrological stability of the stream, wetland, and property" and that "the Hill project as proposed will cause no harm to salmon or salmon habitat".
